More genealogy preëmpting churches and saints by the name. — Bill 22:51, 25 Oct 2004 (UTC)

Yeah... Finding more of these, I went and looked at Tancarville's contributions: they're interested in Maltese nobility, lots of it. Since that's intrinsically worthwhile, I'll hold off for a while, and help move things around. I'm still voting Delete for now, though, as long as there is nothing else than bare genealogy info. I left a note with Tancarville. — Bill 23:16, 25 Oct 2004 (UTC)

  • Merge and delete (yeah, I know...then just delete). Nobles from England and France are all outlined, but they're listed with full articles on them as people. What they aren't is given a genealogical treatment. I.e. Wikipedia is not a genealogical site, regardless of the titles adherent to the family. We discuss people, not lines of descent, and notable people, not just those who fell from a particular tree. Geogre 01:59, 26 Oct 2004 (UTC)
These articles — there's over 50 of them so far — are of very varying quality and depth, and none is very good yet, needing lots of pruning and formatting and NPOV and adding extra-genealogical material, but I hope we can coach our Maltese friend into Wikipedicity. I've been trying, although I'm hardly as qualified as most of you.... — Bill 22:19, 28 Oct 2004 (UTC)

  • Keep. I only had these histories put online a couple of days ago, How do you expect one to finish the job in a matter of hours?? You should at least give a person up to seven days before placing a deletion on such works. Very unfair. I dont see any genealogies place on these pages. Do you?
