In initial version of the page it was stated that

The name MARAND comes from MIRANDA and some people say that it is called marand because it is the place that Noah's mother is in it.

Please provide evidence for this claim to bring it back to the article. --Pouya 12:04, 16 Dec 2004 (UTC)
