  • Delete, at least unless the/an author can say how it's notable. As for the notion above that W'pedia should make all human knowledge available freely to everyone, all human knowledge would presumably include, say, the exact prices and exact relative positions of the seventy-nine or whatever brands of tea stocked in the particular branch of the particular supermarket (Tōkyū Sutoa) that I happen to use. (Oh, and not just the tea.) That's "information" all right. The human knowledge of just which change was made when and by whom to this website happens to be known, but amazon.com is pretty notable -- why don't we track exactly when every book was listed as available (within 24 hours, within 4-6 days, etc.) and unavailable? The "all" in "all human knowledge" seems to be unattainable, and people can legitimately argue over where lines might be drawn. Hoary 10:31, 27 Nov 2004 (UTC)

These project contains material that could be considered to be within the "sum of human knowledge" but which are, by well-established consensus, not suitable for Wikipedia. If you wish this article to be retained, your best course is to present evidence, convincing to mainstream Wikipedians, that Demosoftware.net is notable, as the word "notable" in understood by mainstream Wikipedians. If you are looking a site that aspires to include the "sum of human knowledge" in a literal sense—in their terms, a "knowledge base" rather than an "encyclopedia,"—you may wish to consider contributing your article to jnanabase.   • Keep/Delete Thanks for your comments and review! A small group maintains demosoftware.net for the purpose of introducing Free Software to the mainstream as well as being a collective resource for open source developers worldwide. Admittedly, this site is in its infancy. However, if you carefully review the links and info provided, you will find a very useful and well-rounded summary of the open source software world, which, given its distributed nature, is sometimes hard to navigate and/or understand. More particularly, each of the softwares for demo is supplemented by a human-selected resource of links, of which we have not found an equal on the existing world wide web (and often is a better collection of documentation than what the developers themselves provide for their own software). If the spread of Free Software carries with it the notion and understanding that sharing and freedom are qualities fostering a more perfect world, we feel our site is not only notable, but crucial to the continuation of free software projects such as MediaWiki itself, and more broadly, the world of Free Software and all that it makes possible. All this said, if you feel our debut onto Wikipedia is premature, we would happily remove it ourselves and resubmit a request one year from now. Thank you again, kindly, for reviewing the site.       • It means the group at demosoftware.net respects and values the decisions made by the Wikipedia team and sees their objective, informed anaylsis as one more fit to determine the eligibility of a site for Wikipedia. That said, demosoftware.net sees its relative presence and value on a worldwide scale to be equal, if not greater, than sites deemed worthy on Wikipedia such as Grouphug.us, Jehad.net, AmIAnnoying.com, The Subservient Chicken, General Mayhem, Dysfunctional Family Circus, and Heartless Bitches International, among others. In fact, we truly believe that demosoftware.net will foster development, collaboration, interest, and adoption of the very software that powers Wikipedia itself, the revered MediaWiki. Your kind reconsideration would undoubtedly promote the adoption of the GFDL and its praiseworthy cause. (demosoftware.net team)
      • You are welcome to resubmit yourselves when your noble goals make a notable impact on the community. Unfortunately idiots are much more visible than decent people.
