NL assessment[edit]

This is a nice start article, but the complete lack of sources makes it unsuitable to be classified as B-class. I have not checked the other criteria for B in detail; pending correction of this issues. Arnoutf (talk) 20:45, 30 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Population figures look incorrect. 154.888 Total pop^n? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 147.114.226.173 (talk) 10:25, 1 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It's good, I live in Enschede and it's not exactly the population, but it's a little around the 154.888. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.136.245.159 (talk) 18:23, 29 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I also live in Enschede but it is 156.045 inwoners (31 dec. 2008, bron: CBS). Further on where's that pic overview from Enschede. In the air, very nice pic. If you want I can get some other nice pictures from Enschede. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.75.180.32 (talk) 09:27, 8 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to one external link on Enschede. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:

Why I deleted stuff...[edit]

I reverted an WP:SPA here for the following reasons: WP:V - All the deleted claims were completely unsourced. While being noteworthy (like Ds. Leendert Overduin) the section was unclear.

Because it was close to Germany (only a few kilometers from the town of Gronau in Germany) and housed a German command center, Enschede was frequently bombed by allied troops, aiming for the German command center or mistaking Enschede for a German city. Enschede was liberated on 1 April 1945 by Allied, mainly Canadian, troops.

This is just plain wrong. The archives of the Eigth Bomber Command are available online and list "airport Enschede" as a "target of opportunity".

Like the German capital Berlin, Enschede has a troubled urban economy, but is still home to a vibrant artistic scene. Also the city's laid-back attitude, by some attributed to the relatively low economic activity of its inhabitants (labour participation was about 57% in 2006) and the large numbers of students, artists and (semi-) government employees, make for a 'Berlinesque' atmosphere.

This passage is someones personal opinion and "a vibrant artistic scene" can hardly be called neutral. The "low economic activity" given for the "laid-back attitude" is an insult to the inhabitants.

With the increasing size of international community in Enschede and nearby region, there now exists an international primary and secondary school named International School Twente in southern Enschede.

This, or course, is the payload. See also Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/International School Twente. Kleuske (talk) 14:52, 12 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

F.C. Twente[edit]

Of course I support the local team, i don't think it belongs in the lede. Enschede is host to many things en we can't mention them all in the lede. Kleuske (talk) 19:39, 23 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
