Untitled[edit]

A more complex entry for this individual appears at Kevyn Acoin. i believe this is the correct spelling. Can someone consolodate the two?

Again, I point this out to any administrators listening...

Believe it or not, you can do this yourself, since every user is an editor. I've added a {{merge}} and {{mergefrom}}tags to the pages, and added the articles to the Wikipedia:Duplicate articles page, so someone can volunteer to do this. Thanks for pointing it out! Kevyn 00:31, 30 Jan 2005 (UTC)

value of opening statement[edit]

Of what factual value is the opening statement? Specifically "who was well known for catering to the laywoman's need to feel beautiful." Do professional/specially skilled women not have such needs/desires? I hesitate to edit the statement myself as i'm very new to this, i'd simply like to raise the issue. I agree. It just sounds retarded. The man was a superlative makeup artist. Why not just say that? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.36.127.193 (talk) 13:18, 6 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

wrong picture[edit]

FYI, I have the book with Tori Amos made up as a Native American princess, and that picture is not it.

Er, yeah ... that picture looks a lot closer to East Indian than Native American, in my eyes. Perhaps this is a misperception of mine, but mightn't it be hypercorrection in replacing every instance of “Indian” with “Native American”? ... also, when she was made up as a “Native American princess”, she was Cherokee, specifically; it would be more precise to say just that.

Reply: Your correct in stating Cherokee in my view and I am Indigenous.

death[edit]

"He died in May 2002 of kidney and liver failure due to Tylenol toxicity, due to an addiction to prescription painkillers used to treat the extreme pain from his condition"

I'm no medic, but that sounds like a drug overdose to me. Is there a reason this phrase isn't present? Widmerpool 11:13, 9 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

<Is there a reason your inserting it? 'Sounds like a drug overdose to me' is not evidence that is what it was from everything I ever read it was related to the acetaminophen and I have never read anything related to his 'addiction to pain medication' who is arguing that he was addicted? He was in pain!>

"Drug overdose" has a number of connotations that don't necesarily apply. Acetominophen can destroy the liver with no warning and without intent. Prescription painkillers like Vicodin combine acetominophen with narcotics like codeine. Patients with severe pain issues have to be careful to avoid inadvertent over-consumption of acetominophen which is also present in other medications such as cough syrups. Patients habituated to narcotics may need higher doses of the narcotics to treat their pain but their bodies cannot tolerate the accompanying acetominophen. While the existing language is a bit verbose, I think it best characterizes the nature of the fatality. ·:· Will Beback ·:· 22:24, 9 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
