Does anyone know if there is a link between the name of this town and Braintree, Essex, England, UK which I'm pretty certain predates it?

I'm sure there is, as most towns in the area bear or originally bore names of towns and counties in England.

Why is it called Braintree (town), Massachusetts? Is there any other in Massachusetts (beside the mentioned CDP)?
