Yes. It could also convert every word ending with "-ing" to "-ed", but I think that would annoy a few people ;) If you think the bot will be useful, maybe you should put a word in at wikitech-l, where they're currently debating whether I should be allowed to use it or not. -- Tim Starling 09:35 Mar 29, 2003 (UTC)

It's not allowed?

Everyone was like "oh, don't do that, you'll clutter up RC", and "you'll just waste bandwidth, do it on the server side" and "if you do it on the server side everyone will be able to use it", etc. Plus some generalised anti-bot sentiment. I could use it if I wanted to, since there's no way to tell whether a given edit comes from a bot or a person. I could just let it use my regular user account. I've put off coding it on the server side for now -- I've decided that programmers are in extremely short supply, and there's much more useful things I could be doing. It turns out doing it on the server side is much harder than writing it as a bot.
