Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Your user page[edit]

Hello, I found your user page atUser:BernardVatant while doing some wikiarchaeology. . I have restored all of its earliest surviving revisions from old copies of the Wikipedia database, so they are available to everyone now. Hope you don't mind. Graham87 10:59, 21 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Bernard, Thanks for the kind words; I'm glad you appreciated my importing of the old edits. To link your old user pages in both the English and French Wikipedias, it'd probably be best to unredirect your old English user page, then add [[fr:Utilisateur:BernardVatant]] to the English page and [[en:User:BernardVatant]] to the French one. Graham87 00:39, 4 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
What was the text of the warning you received? I can't find any evidence either in your contributions or the edit filter logs for both wikis that you made (or even tried to make) an edit to either of those pages. Graham87 12:13, 4 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, you can still edit it. However, to register that name in the English Wikipedia, log in as BernardVatant (if you can) on the French Wikipedia then visit any page on the English Wikipedia; that username will then be automatically registred on enwiki and that message won't be displayed. To get username changes, see Steward requests/Username changes on Meta. Graham87 04:14, 5 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Sounds great! If you could log in to the old account on the French Wikipedia and visit the English site as I described above (to attach the accounts on both Wikipedia editions), that would complete the picture. If you can't, that's still OK. I' sorry but I had forgotten that there is actually a speedy deletion criterion for pages without an owner, CSD U2; however, it doesn't apply in this case because it's the old ID of a renamed user. However, to make the page 100% safe from deletion, there would need to be an account associated with the user page. But I'm keeping an eye on it (and I presume so are you), so the page should stay up for the foreseeable future. Graham87 10:29, 5 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Your user page (redux)[edit]

Hi again Bernard, as a followup to the previous section (which I had forgotten about for now!) your user page was indeed deleted because there was no registered user associated with it. I've restored it, replaced it with a redirect (to make maintenance easier), and imported all the old revisions to it from the August 2001 database dump. It appears that you never actually used the username BernardVatant

on the English Wikipedia in 2001 ... you just edited as an IP here ... but I think it's important to keep the user page history around anyway. Graham87 04:43, 12 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Hot Potatoes has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable software. Only references are by the programs authors. Makes no claims to notability and doesn't have sufficient third party coverage. Fails GNG.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

This bot DID NOT nominate any of your contributions for deletion; please refer to the history of each individual page for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 10:00, 11 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
