Bishojo game[edit]

 • Just wanted to say, good work on writing Bishojo game and fixing up the related articles. There was really a need for some consistent terminology there. DopefishJustin (・∀・) 02:06, 14 Jun 2004 (UTC)

About DNA repair...[edit]

Interesting how you trash the article publicly only to acknowledge its validity and apologize privately. Is there a purpose to this? prometheus1 11:27, 6 Aug 2004 (UTC)

DNA repair round 2...[edit]

If you are genuine in your motivation to make the article more readable, then I suggest that you rewrite your critique in a fashion where the quality of the article is not seen to be compromised simply because it is written in an academic style and may not be suitable for the more pedestrian reader. prometheus1 07:57, 7 Aug 2004 (UTC)

Obviously you have no intention of retracting your unfounded criticisms. You are instead dancing around the issue. Will you withdraw your unfounded critique and if you are so concerned about making it accessible by a less academic reader make suitable suggestions? prometheus1 08:12, 7 Aug 2004 (UTC)

You said. "I stand by the gist of my criticisms. I've already spent enough time talking about this with you and I really have other things to do. Sorry, I won't be discussing this with you any further, nor do I really feel like working on this article anymore. --Shibboleth 08:25, 7 Aug 2004 (UTC)"

Is that all you are capable of - writing unfounded criticisms - on articles you are clearly not qualified to judge? And having achieved your mission - compromised the standing of an article - then you scamper off. Your efforts serve only to hinder the educational process whilst obviously providing you with some devious satisfaction. Your comments are unwelcome. You are disgraceful ambassador to Wikipedia prometheus1 08:36, 7 Aug 2004 (UTC)

DNA repair - no contest[edit]

Hi Shibboleth,

I just wanted to say that I was impressed with the diplomatic way you tried to calm down the debate on DNA repair on Wikipedia:Featured_article_candidates. Your initial comment seems to have got everyone off on the wrong foot, but I think we have arrived at a concensus of understanding now. If you and User:Prometheus1 agree, should I ask User:Raul654 to cleanup some of the heated discussion to get it back to just the pros and cons of candidacy. -- Solipsist 10:33, 7 Aug 2004

Chaim?[edit]

Is this Chaim? If so, hello from George :-) --Gene_poole 02:46, 25 Aug 2004 (UTC)

Nope, I'm not the same guy, sorry :). In fact I have no idea who this "Chaim" is. --Shibboleth 02:51, 25 Aug 2004 (UTC)

No problemo - I just noticed your edit to the Micronation article and wondered; I know a Chaim Shibboleth in the Netherlands who is a micronation coin specialist. --Gene_poole 05:43, 25 Aug 2004 (UTC)

Dear Shibboleth,

Thanks so much for your comments on the proposed Wikipedia tutorial video at User:Brettz9/videoscript. Yeah, I've intended on making different videos for each major segment (on standards, editing, etc.) I very much agree with your point that it is good to start showing editing as soon as possible, so I plan to make the video segment for editing accessible separately (for someone who wants to jump directly to it), but I thought the site's standards should be listed first chronologically to avoid people just jumping in with editing without realizing that there were certain standards like NPOV, etc.. Brettz9 (talk) 00:05, 26 Aug 2004 (UTC)

Hm, I think the majority of people's first edits are on topics where there isn't any serious controversy going on, so they are unlikely to stumble across NPOV policy. Anyway, if they make a bad edit, we have a lot of people patrolling the recent changes list checking nearly all the edits from people without usernames: they can't do any serious damage. So I would as much as reasonable encourage people to just jump in and start browsing and editing --- that's the most fun and effective way to learn. --Shibboleth 00:14, 26 Aug 2004 (UTC)
Good point...Maybe I should note that at the very beginning...thanks! Brettz9 (talk) 00:31, 26 Aug 2004 (UTC)

thanks[edit]

dear Shibboleth, i hope i clicked the rite button this time ^^|. thanks for the correction. i've been using the site for a long time but still a newbie in editing. i should've read the help section before i do anything. the ou spelling was corrected beacuse i saw it written that way in the Mitsuru Adachi page.

Blissymbols[edit]

That was a LOT of editing. Evertype 12:20, 2004 Aug 28 (UTC)

I'm not sure what you're trying to say by that. My main edit was to reorder the sentences in order of (in my opinion) importance, since the first paragraph said who had created Blissymbols but not what they were --- which surely is the first thing a reader wants to know.--Shibboleth 18:07, 28 Aug 2004 (UTC)

Article Licensing[edit]

Hi, I've started a drive to get users to multi-license all of their contributions that they've made to either (1) all U.S. state, county, and city articles or (2) all articles, using the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike (CC-by-sa) v1.0 and v2.0 Licenses or into the public domain if they prefer. The CC-by-sa license is a true free documentation license that is similar to Wikipedia's license, the GFDL, but it allows other projects, such as WikiTravel, to use our articles. Since you are among the top 2000 Wikipedians by edits, I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all of your contributions or at minimum those on the geographic articles. Over 90% of people asked have agreed. For More Information:

To allow us to track those users who muli-license their contributions, many users copy and paste the "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" template into their user page, but there are other options at Template messages/User namespace. The following examples could also copied and pasted into your user page:

Option 1
I agree to multi-license all my contributions, with the exception of my user pages, as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

OR

Option 2
I agree to multi-license all my contributions to any U.S. state, county, or city article as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

Or if you wanted to place your work into the public domain, you could replace "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" with "MultiLicensePD". If you only prefer using the GFDL, I would like to know that too. Please let me know what you think at my talk page. It's important to know either way so no one keeps asking. -- Ram-Man (comment| talk)

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Piacarrot takaisayaka screenshot.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sephiroth BCR (Converse) 05:16, 13 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Sispri2 fandisk cover.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Sispri2 fandisk cover.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 14:53, 4 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Tokimemo3 coverart.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Tokimemo3 coverart.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. « ₣ullMetal ₣alcon » 15:32, 3 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free use of File:TLS3 geko.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:TLS3 geko.jpg. However, there is a concern that the use of the image on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. Details of this problem, and which specific criteria that the image may not meet, can be obtained by going to the image description page. If you feel that this image does meet those criteria, please place a note on the image description or talk page explaining why. Do not remove the di-fails NFCC tag itself.

An administrator will review this file within a few days, and having considered the opinions placed on the image page, may delete it in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion or remove the tag entirely. You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
